Breakfast of Supplements
Once upon a time I was not supplement crazy. But now I am.
Why is that?
Well it might have something to do with being 67 and having a brother who, like myself never had a heart attack until he had the massive one when he was 67.
It would be inconvenient to die right now, maybe I can stave it off until later?
How would I do that, since my muscles don't really like to work out, and I know from PET scans that my aorta is encrusted with slabs of gunk.
What can I do about that stuff?
Well if you can believe what you read on the Internet, and don't have a great deal to lose, you can consume nostrums that will, over time, degrease your arteries.
One way to do this is to combine vitamin D and L-Arginine in suitable amounts and it may or may not work. I've been taking about 2000 IU of vitamin D and 500mg of L-Arginine for over a year, and recently I increased the vitamin D to 6000 IU and 8cc of L-Arginine powder.
I read somewhere that the requisite amount of Vitamin D is 5000IU along with 5 grams of L-Arginine.
Will it work, will I ever find out?
In the past I used to clear out my coronary arteries by exercising and following a low-carbohydrate diet. It actually worked, and my other brother did the same sort of regimen, but added a little alcohol.
It worked for him too.
I'm further along on the decrepitude scale, and being run down I want to find ways that I can support my cardiovascular system that involve less physical effort.
In looking for that magic bullet, and here's hoping I don't shoot my foot off, I've been experimenting with a number of additives to my diet.
Which I will go into in future blog posts.
